In line with the objectives proposed in the Beyond GO HERO project to train the researchers from IDIBGI, IISPV and IRB Lleida in current Horizon Europe policies and relevant transversal aspects to be implemented in their research projects, the HERO Office is pleased to announce the 2nd joint training action on “Policies to promote the gender dimension in the content of research and innovation”.

The European Commission is committed to promoting gender equality in research and innovation. Therefore, the proposals and initiatives funded within the framework of Horizon Europe must show their contribution to the objectives set by the European Commission in this regard.

The first part of the session “Policies to promote the gender dimension in the content of research and innovation”, presented by Lydia González Orta (FECYT), will introduce the different measures through which the Framework Program promotes gender equality, clarify basic concepts regarding gender and science, as well as analyze the impacts and challenges posed by the gender dimension in the content of the proposals as one of the “Excellence” criteria.

In the second part, the speaker Maria Trinidad Herrero Ezquerro (Universidad de Murcia) will present her work on the context of the Gender Outcomes INternational Group: to Further Well-being Development (GOING-FWD) project, funded within the framework of the ERA-NET GENDER-NET Plus.

The speaker Lydia González (FECYT) is a National Contact Point in the WIDERA pillar of the Horizon Europe program for the transversal objective and calls for “Gender Equality”, and supports the Spanish representation in European discussion forums on equality policies in R+D+I. On the other hand, the speaker María Trinidad Herrero is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Murcia, Director of the Aging Research Institute and Principal Investigator of the Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience (NiCE) group that belongs to the Institute of Aging and the Murcian Institute of Biosanitary Research (IMIB).

This training session will take place next March 20th, 2024, from 11:00h to 13:00h.

Hybrid event: attendees can join either physically (IDIBGI, Girona) or remotely.
